Is collection really cheaper?

Compare an IKEA collection trip with delivery using the final package size and your actual journey.

Free collection can still cost more than delivery once travel and handling are included.

Choose a real collection point

IKEA Philippines offers Click & Collect and publishes a location table with different lead times and operating hours. Use the point offered for your actual order, then wait for the collection confirmation required by the retailer. A planned shopping trip is not evidence that your goods are ready.

Check the number of packages, largest carton and total weight. A furniture item that fits your room may not fit your vehicle. Include passengers and other belongings when considering cargo space; do not assume a ride service will accept a large carton.

Compare both journeys

In an invented example, ₱250 of fuel, ₱160 of parking and tolls, and ₱300 for suitable hired transport on one part of the journey create ₱710 of collection costs. These are not Manila fare estimates. Put your real costs beside the delivery quote shown for your address.

If the trip is already planned, include only the genuinely additional travel costs, but still check timing and loading arrangements. Avoid claiming the whole journey is free simply because you were going somewhere nearby. A second trip after a missed slot changes the calculation.

Prepare the handover

Confirm the proof needed for you or an authorised collector and the collection deadline in the order instructions. Ask what happens if you cannot attend. Do not apply another country’s IKEA collection rules to a Philippine order.

Choose collection when the goods, vehicle and schedule fit. Choose delivery when it avoids a more expensive or impractical journey. This guide does not promise availability at a specific collection point or provide a live service quote.
